On another note, this puts the 20 gig PS3 on par with the Xbox 360 premium, which also comes with a 20 gig.. both costing $400.

But in any case, $500 for a 60GB PS3 is pretty nice I'd say, and I'm pretty much excited for the coming games for it this fall, I think this fall is when it starts to make a comeback but I'm not particularly sure if it will catch up, doubtful.

oh it'll take a while for it to catch up for sure...but hey...the console really hasn't been out that long. Plus with the price tag it had in the beginning, average gamers just weren't prepared to shell out that kinda cash. Yeah, would've figured a drop in price would be more near the end of the year, but whatever! ;D But...I also think the ps3 needs more time to catch up simply because they lack a wide selection of games. I mean, the ones they have are great, but they just need to build up their game library. So until then...I'll just be happy with my ps2. hehehe

It's definitely worth it. ;D ...Although Sony hasn't been doing much to fill all this free space I have.

Though I still envy that you got it as a Christmas Present, while many of us have to work for it, I guess benefits all around?

My problem is with them not having enough downloadable shit, not the fact that I don't have 80GB. There's a bigger gap between 60 and 20 than there is with 60 and 80, so I'm fine with what I've got.

Why would I not be happy with receiving it earlier? I think he meant that because now there's an 80 gig that comes with Motorstorm for the price of the 20 gig that was available when you got your ps3.

The 80 GB is the Price that the 60 GB was. The 60 GB is the one that's now the price of the 20 GB. But yeah...I've had my fun with Motorstorm anyway. It was fun while it lasted. I'm more happy that people will buy more of these than I'm sad that I don't have 20 extra gigs. They'll probably start selling hard drives to replace the ones pre-installed pretty soon anyway. Can't wait for one of them suckers.

Earlier in this topic we were talking about the 80GB PS3 vs the 60GB PS3....so umm....I found out yesterday that the 80GB PS3 is only 80% BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE. Apparently there's something fishy with the emulation of the model, and some of the older PS2 and PS1 games won't play. I also found out that Sony will soon be coming out with a 40GB model....however, it won't be backwards compatible AT ALL. (Pretty good reason to stick with the 60GB, eh?) Anyway, just thought you people who didn't have one yet might like to know that little tidbit before you bought one.

I also found out that Sony will soon be coming out with a 40GB model....however, it won't be backwards compatible AT ALL. Is it really that hard to make a fully backwards compatible system. I mean come on whats wrong with the new stuff, if you could get it right about 11 months ago whats wrong now?

I seriously have no idea. It seems that they're making the 40 GB size in desperation. (Sony's not doing as well as they hoped they would...) I would assume it's only being made as a fast, easy way to make a cheaper model, in hopes that the price is the only thing blocking the consumer...which it's not, although after playing the Ratchet and Clank Future Demo today, I think they'll start to see somewhat of a comeback...damn that game was fun.
