Mom wants to get an internet card for me and her; thereby eliminating the router....HOW WILL I GET JAK X ONLINE AGAIN? would it be possible to plug the RJ-45 into my computer and send the connection that way? PLZ HELPPPP!!! the good news is that if i can use my computer to connect Jak X to the internet, then i could get internet at Dumont Dunes...not like mom or dad would let me bring the PS2 XD hmm.... (P.S. the irl Havoc V12 is looking promising on paper! i was talking to my dad about it and we both seem really excited X3 XD) o yeah...plus ive been stuck on 79% hero mode for a while...maybe losing internet would get me to work on that more...waterworks circuit timetrial was hard enough on normal mode! i think ill try again in the javelin tho...

hmmmm. The question is, are you planning to share the internet connection with the computer and PS2 at the same time? If you're just going to have one machine online at one time, then you can just plug your cable directly into the computer or directly into the PS2 adapter- whichever you're using at the time.
As far as I know, there's usually only one ethernet jack on the card so it really can't send the internet connection "out" to something else. Just one thing plugs in- which is why for more than one computer, a router is needed. But, to sum it up, in order to share the connection, a router is the best chioce.

Whoops! I'm always in the "desktop" frame of mind. lol That's a weird looking card there, and I really don't know that much about the laptop stuff. But is that a wireless card? How does it connect to the internet- through the phone (DSL), cable, or are you in one of those big city wi-fi areas where you can connect wirelessly from anywhere in the general area? hmmmm... I'm going to check that out. -edit- Nevermind about the connection question. It looks like they just offer DSL, from what I can tell. Where is that offer at on the site? I wanna check out that card and what it does.

I see now. They have the PS2 networked with the laptop so it can share the internet connection. How crafty! And he even has a troubleshooting section....that's a lot more than most would provide. Do you have the crossover cable and other stuff that you're going to need to do this?
