People can get you things that you didn't ask for. Nobody follows 'lists' anymore. Let someone do something nice for you for once.

Just because you didn't ask for it for Christmas doesn't mean that it can't be a present. That's kinda why they're advertising that thing like crazy. It's supposed to be a great gift. Heh, I think I saw 3 different "packages" they were selling (one was just for the movie, another includes the soundtrack, and the other had the bonus material disc). They even had some kind of wheel play set thing (from the scene where they all are fighting in the water wheel. I can't remember if it has another name.....so whoopsies in advance if that's not what it's called! )

So I just gt done watching the bonus feature "Meet Davy Jones: Anatomy of a Legend", and it had some VERY interesting information. ;D - Davy Jones's animation is made up of five layers. (Bill Nighy in the 'trek suit';a faceless 3D render built of flat, gray shells, and a couple of tentacles; two that define everything; and the final.)
- The coloring for Davy Jones came from a coffee stain on a styrafoam cup.
- The suits worn by the crew members of the Flying Dutchman, including Davy, are gray, Star-Trek-looking suits, with black squares that have white dots on the joints.
- In the scene where Davy Jones is playing the organ, Nighy had no make-up on whatsoever, and merely moved back and forth in the same motions you see Davy move in, with his head hovering above the organ. (Sort of moving his chin the way he feels the character would.)
- In the scene where Will takes the key, they had four fake, rubbery tentacles that Orlando actually moved with the quill. The animation for the tentacles was then laid on top.
- For some scenes, Nighy would wear a claw-shaped glove with joint markers. (For Davy's claw.)
- Even Davy's eyes were CG animated. (They put heavy, green, scaly make-up around Nighy's eyes and mouth in case they'd have to use his teeth or eyes if the features looked too animated.)
- The hat is also animated...
- Quirky tidbits we see from Davy Jones, such as the popping sound after he says "Price?", were not in the script. Nighy added them himself.

Oooh lookie! I just found two Easter Eggs!!! The first one, on the first menu of the Bonus Material DVD, talked about the 'Twin Pirates' of Davy's crew -- siamese twin pirate-monsters! You can see them in three scenes, but the only one I can remember is where Will is watching crew members play the Dice game and Bootstrap comes up and talks to him. The Twin-Pirates are in the background behind them. ;D And the second one, on the second menu, wasn't all that interesting. It was only about the 'Coconut Man'. This isn't a guy who was in the movie or anything though. He just works on the island they filmed the cannibal island scenes on. He climbs about 30-40 trees a day getting coconuts for 'real pirates'. Towards the end of the clip though, you get to see about 1-2 minutes of Producers and Orlando saying "Mmmm, that's good" after trying some. Joyous day.

We'll have to look for those when we finally get it. I'm sure there must be more.
No, the coconut thing doesn't sound that interesting. It's dumb when they put in non-related stuff.
Here's some other eggs I've found on the net. I don't have the movie, so I obviously can't confirm it's existence. -------------- On disc 2 click on "Mastering the Blade," go down to "Return to Bonus," and click LEFT / DOWN to see the lock light up. Click that to see a 2-minute featurette on "Chopper," the newest (canine) star of the POTC universe.
On Disc 2, highlight "According to plan", press Left twice. This should highlight a leaf. Press OK to watch how the food was made for the entire film crew.
On Disc 2, highlight "Fly on the set - The Bone Cage", press Left, Down and Left. This should highlight a leaf. Press OK to watch a clip with the stand-by painter.
