Hey, hey, here's some homebrew games for the bitches with a PSP. Wish I had one... Read up on what you have to do to run them, cause I'm not researching on something I can't have fun with- yet. pspupdates.qj.net/category/Homebrew-Games/cid/62

Homebrewing isnt something Ive looked into for a long while, last time I did I was still at firmware 2.10 for the PSP. and at that time there was too many security patches to hombrew unless you still had firmware 1.50. Only way to go down was to of course downgrade, but with all the firmware security there werent any holes for hackers to get through to go back like you could with 1.7 to 1.50, which wasnt what I had. Now I have something like 3.01 or something like that Im sure its even harder and id imagine you cant homebrew with that firmware, but I could be wrong. I do hear rumors though Sony might be having a download service for old games to save onto your PSP, kind of like the way they run the game demos you can download currently.

Actually, they don't seem to be having much difficulty with homebrew and current firmware. They've even boasted that they cracked some of the updates the very same day it came out.
Yeah, after you upgrade the firmware, you can't play the homebrew games, but there's always some talented person out there decrypting and hacking the code so you can get them back and running again.

It's sad but i've never had a whole lot of success with homebrewing but that was just using the computer, I guess I'll go looking back into PSP homebrewing and see what I can do. Though I imagine I can't really do anything since I still only have that 32MB card that came with it. Sometimes I wish I would have waited a little while longer since now they release it with a 1GB stick

That's why a lot of people don't update. But then, some of the newer games require the latest firmware in order to play.
Some people get 2 PSPs for that reason: they have one that they keep updated for playing games and buy another that has an old firmware version for playing homebrew. Although I wouldn't want to tote around two PSPs all the time...
It's a shame Sony won't accept that people would like to run their own things on their game systems. There's a lot of nice home-made games out there.

There are homebrew-like things you can run on the DS too... But that's a whole different scenario...
