Ubisoft is one of the most respectable and successful game developers for the ps2, in my opinion. Yes, they have games for the other systems, but I mainly have their games for the Playstation. My favorites are The Prince of Persia (the Sands of Time Trilogy) and Beyond Good & Evil, which needs a freakin' sequel already. Both have amazing graphics for their styles and the game play is phenomenal. The Prince of Persia has one of the most interesting fighting engines, similar to God of War. Button mashing will only get you so far and to do the amazing moves require a complex combination of button presses, but not so complicated to make it unusable. POP 1: ps2.ign.com/objects/535/535909.htmlPOP 2: ps2.ign.com/objects/654/654709.htmlPOP 3: ps2.ign.com/objects/736/736164.htmlBeyond Good & Evil had one of the most interesting plots I've encountered in a game. The graphics are kinda cartoony but not at the same time. Definately one of the most overlooked games of all time. These are just my opinions, and IGN can write a better review than I ever could. ps2.ign.com/objects/481/481958.html

I think the only Ubisoft games I was ever really into were probably the Rayman series. (Not PSOne, N64!)

Yeah, without playing the previous POP games, the story is probably pretty confusing. The first one may not have as many interesting fighting moves, but it's almost better than the others. hmmm, I've never played any Rayman games. The only decent ones I have for the N64 is DK racing and the Zelda series. That system was about as short-lived as the Game Cube.

I'd have to disagree. Although there weren't that many good games for it, the ones that were good are simply amazing with excellent replay values. If I still had them all, I'd take breaks form Jak X to play Diddy Kong racing, or Ocarina of Time. I think that a Diddy Kong racing with more tracks and more characters, hell even more vehicles would be pretty worthwhile to me for online.

They are both great systems- By 'short-lived' I wasn't referring to the replay value, because there are some great games that you'd always end up coming back to. I meant that Nintendo didn't spend much effort releasing games for both- as soon as we bought an N64 they were already planning the GC. After the first year of the GC, I bet they were already planning their "Revolution." Seems like they're more worried about hardware than game development.
Hell yeah, I still play the N64 Zelda series, but on the Game Cube since they released a compilation disc with all three games on it (including Master Quest). If they had ever made the N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing go online, it would've been the smartest move they could make considering how addictive that game is...especially with multiplayer.

Running out of ideas?? i doubt it. I think they're working on a 'supposedly great' game (at least that's what i hear) called assasins (or something like that). I can't remember much about it since it's been a while.... but I do like a lot of their games. And I love all the POP series.... rock music and all! Now I just have to make time to play the 3rd one..... lol

well of course.... almost every game company has their line of war/espionoge games. blah... not my type of games though. Ubisoft is a pretty solid company that usually delivers great products.... now... i wish they'd make a great online multiplayer game

Yeah FPS are just being killed to this point especially ones dealing with WWII. How many more aspects are there to cover on the war that already hasnt been?

Well, the imaginary wars will only be interesting for so long. And if they can create a new way to experience the whole war environment, then they will continue to make games about it. There's always different points of view to be played from.

I wonder whatever happened to Ratchet. I can only think of two things: He moved out and got a job at his local Ubisoft Company while getting a place of his own and not being able to afford internet yet, or moved in with his girlfriend. It'd be pretty cool if he was working with Ubisoft right now.

Yeah, I miss the guy too! He just never showed up again. I even wrote him a few emails but he never wrote back. I think he did mention something about moving, so that might be it. And you never know.... the next great Ubisoft game might say "Created By Ratchet" LOL ;D Well, the least he could do is write me back and send me some cool Ubisoft crap, dammit!

Yep, I miss him too. I swear, that boy could make the most mundane event into an interesting conversation. Funny how quickly we became friends and just as suddenly, he disappeared. Although, that seems to happen a lot with this game- people just vanish. He might have changed games, though. I know he switched up pretty often and if he finally got his pc running, he might be hooked on one of those MMO games that suck in people's lives.
