For people who want to know a brief summary of the games (and I'm only talking about the Sands of Time Trilogy *for now anyway* )
Shadow.... read this!
POP 1 Sands of Time
The Prince of Persia, his father, and their army conquer a nearby kingdom with the help of a treacherous Vizier. Amidst the fighting, the Prince comes into possession of a mysterious dagger. After the kingdom has fallen, the Vizier wishes to collect his share of the spoils… at first it was the sands of time (a huge hourglass which contains strange glowing sand). When the Sultan announces that he planned for it to be a gift for another sultan, the Vizier then wants the dagger of time, which of course is already claimed by the Prince. So, with no dagger, and no sands of time, the Vizier travels with them to another kingdom. The Sultan presents his friend with the hourglass. Then, the Vizier fools the Prince into opening the Sands by using the Dagger. Only the Vizier and the Princess of the conquered kingdom (who had been taken captive) knew of the Sand’s terrible power. The Sand transformed all the people and animals into sand creatures. Only the Prince, the Vizier, and the Princess (Farah) remained unchanged. (Each had something that protected them from the sand’s power….. the Prince – the Dagger of Time…. The Vizier – His Staff (Strange… he’s so similar to Jafar from Aladdin…LOL) … and Farah – an amulet she wore). So the Prince must fight through sand creatures and navigate through the palace on a quest to reseal the sands of time.
POP 2 Warrior Within
In this darker themed installment, the Prince is hunted by the indestructible Dahaka, an immortal incarnation of Fate. It is the Prince’s fate to die, and as he defies it, the Dahaka hunts him to correct the timeline. So the Prince travels the world, always trying to flee this unshakable foe, but to no avail. The Dahaka always finds him. Tired of running, he sails to a mysterious island to find the creator or the Sands, the Empress of Time, and stop her from ever making the sands. The Prince must fight his way through the palace and surrounding island and solve many puzzles to stop the creation of the Sands of Time.
Best part I liked about this game was the introduction of the FFS (Free-Form Fighting System). There were so many different combat moves that the player can create their own fighting style (most of the time plain ol’ button mashing just won’t work ).
POP 3 The Two Thrones
The Prince and Kaileena make their way to Babylon (the Prince’s home). Instead of finding the peace the Prince longed for, he discovers his kingdom ravaged by war. Kaileena is then kidnapped and murdered by a powerful enemy. Her death unleashes the Sands of Time. The Prince is then cast to the streets and hunted as a fugitive. But that is not where the damage ceases. He soon discovers that the Sands have tainted him as well and given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him.
This one I have yet to play much of…. So that’s all I know about this one.
Hope this helped ya out a little on the storylines…. Nothing beats playing the games yourself. I definitely recommend them!
