Despite my lack of genuine interest in the launch titles and the $600 price bomb... ... I still want one. But it will have to wait for better days. Besides, it'll give Sony a chance to work out the bugs of the online community feature, since they are new to it. No one was camping out at the Walmart in town. But then again, our hayseed Walmart probably doesn't even have any. The PS3 kiosks are up... but nothing is playable.

That was very informative. But by the time I get $600 the PS4 will be out. Plus my town's Wallmart is only getting 6 PS3s on launch ,and we already have people camping out there. But there will more than likely be bugs so it's better to let that get worked out. You don't want those crazy fanboys that will beat you to death to get one to come up to you on launch because they don't have enough money for it.

There are some crazy stories going around about how people got/didn't get a PS3. It's amazing how people will fight over these game systems just to sell them on ebay. Who would f'in buy one for $1000?!

Yes, not every store gets the same amount of merchandise. I bet some places around here didn't even get any! There's simply not enough to go around. Heh.... think of all the sales Sony is missing out on when there's people who are willing to buy the system, but there's no more available. I remember when the Xbox 360 came out.... people were doing all kinds of things to get one. There was one story where someone followed the person to their home and stole it from them there. Geeez.

But these commercials... I just don't get the message. It doesn't exactly scream, "Buy a PS3!" I just saw the babydoll one on tv, and it shall forever haunt me.

They're just trying to treat the PS3 as a figure of Spiritual Divinity. Like when the baby doll looked at it, you could see explosions while it cired. You know, crying because of the beauty? ;D

I see... But there are other, more aesthetic ways to get the same point across.

Bugg. The baby creeps me out, therefore it must go! Well.... it did all this demonic sounding babbling, the whole crying thing.... It was disturbing. But I think the whole "floating console" is a dumb concept anyway. I see where they're wanting to go with the message, but c'mon. Isn't there something better...... Kinda expected more from the advertising of this industry changing game console.

If it hovers..... I wouldn't think it needed a hole in the ceiling (seems more like it's peeking out). It would just be there, like a giant tarantula waiting to jump on your head.... Oh it will be watching you, and you won't even know it..... just wait..... Sony may have everyone else fooled, but not me! Went to walmart today..... saw no ps3's and there were some people around the display. Heh, like they were really going to get one. I bet the systems never made it to the shelf.

Ceiling PS3 would've made a better commercial than some of the crap out there. They should buy my idea.
