It's not like their games will require that you have a Live account... or is it? It didn't say. Seems like you should be able to play online with it even without Live. There are much better services elsewhere.... and I don't like Microsft following me everywhere I game.

No way....never gonna pay for that crap. It's pretty much pointless for a PC. I think gaming should be free anyway. You only get live so that you can play online with your xbox....my pc already goes online...so why would I buy their service? Stupid Microsoft. Always trying to get all the money they can. Corporate Pigs! ....... just like bugg!

It still seems like a waste, although it would be nice to talk to everyone in the game....sometimes.

That does just seem to be like a waste. If you can already do all of Live's PC equivalent on a PC, then what are you paying for? It's called Xbox Live for a reason. And I might add that on the Xbox, Live is pretty frackin awesome

I guess Microsoft sees that people have found a way to communicate while playing the company's best game along with all the RPG's, and on such a wide-spread field, they want to control it too, thus bringing in even more money. But I suppose that's what Microsoft is all about anyway. Monopolizing all they can.

interesting...i knew bout halo 2...but not bout live...it does sound like their trying to monopolize it. it said "silver membership" was free. thats not so bad then. thats one reason i pretty much abhore the xbox and 360....gah...i paid $50 for the game and then i gotta pay more? no fun. id spend all the time trying to make money to play the game then wouldnt get to play...;.; boo.
