Forum Guidelines
Rules
These rules are pretty much the standard rules for any forum. We’re not as strict as a lot of places out there, but a certain degree of restriction is necessary to maintain the forum’s quality. Violating these rules may result in a member getting banned. If you feel that another member is breaking any of these rules, please report it to the moderators.
1. No offensive material please. This includes inappropriate images, messages, etc. Posting threats or harassing other members will not be tolerated as well.
2. NO SPAM. By now we should all know what this is.
3. No oversized images. Please keep your embedded images to a respectable size. If you can’t see it on the screen without scrolling, then it’s too big (unless you have a good reason for this). If you must post an oversized image, then make it a text link instead of embedding to image.
4. Limit profanity. I know everyone has heard just about every word there is out there, but that doesn’t mean other people want to hear it from you! We’re pretty flexible here, but don’t get carried away (or use words that are overly offensive). Remember, there might be little kiddies that want to visit!
5. No double posting (making a new post when yours is the last one). This should go without saying, but it’s here anyway. If you want to say something else, then use the edit feature. That’s what it’s there for.
Moderators reserve the right to make new additions to these rules. These are just a guideline to follow, and since I can’t think of EVERY situation, these rules are subject to change.
Thanks for your cooperation and HAVE FUN!
Some Board Features
1. Smilies
Extra smilies can be found on the left side of the screen (when writing messages and posts) in a small black box with a dropdown menu listing the smilie names. If you select a smilie from the list, then a preview of it will display in the box. Click the smilie to place it in your message. There is also a link to “View all smilies” which will open a new window and display all of the smilies at once.
2. Buddy List
This added feature does exactly as it says, creates a buddy list for each member. Under each member’s name in their mini profile there should be a link to “Add Buddy.” You can manage your buddy list by going to your profile and clicking on the link at the top “Manage Buddy List.” If you know the member’s username, then you can manually add them to your buddy list here. The list comes in handy when you want to PM your friends because all you have to do is click on their name in your list and it automatically adds their name to the “To:” field.
FYI, this buddy list is based on cookies which are located on your individual computer. So if you delete your cookie files or go on another computer, then you will more than likely find your buddy list empty. You will just have to add your friends again (sorry, but that's the way the script works!)
3. Private Messages (PMs)
Most of you should know how these work. You can send any of the members a private message using the forum’s messaging system. Your total and new messages are displayed at the top of the forum. To send a PM to more than one member simply put a comma between the names. Ex. username1,username2
4. Signatures
Members can add text and/or images to the bottom of their posts (a.k.a. sigs). Please keep these to a reasonable size. To add an image to your sig be sure to put your image inside [ img ][ /img ] (without the spaces ). Text is limited to 400 characters.
5. Avatars
Members can choose to use one of the provided avatars or link to one of their own. Avatar images must not exceed 100x100 pixels. To use your own, simply type in the FULL URL (http://….) Remember not to put [ img ] tags around it. You can change your avatar anytime by going to your user profile.
6. Karma
Basically, this is your overall reputation on the forum. You can rate other users, and they can rate you! Exhalt=Good, Smite=Bad.
7. Forum Codes (UBBC)
You know those codes like this [ img ]? Those are UBB codes. Most of the codes are listed in the “Add Tags:” section when you make a post, message, etc. Here are a list of some of codes that work on this forum:
Remember not to put spaces in your tags! (I put them in so you could see the code)
