Yeah, the keyboard is nice. One of the things we have a lot of around here is keyboards. So Bugg and I usually have 'em. It's worth it when you want to type some text on the game. That whole little virtual keyboard can be tiresome. And bugg and I finished running the new ethernet cable to the other room (with the bigger tv! yay!). That was some work, but all worth it.

I just got the wireless bridge today, and the network adapter comes tomorrow! I guess all I have to do is plug the bridge into the PS2 and KABLAMO! Or maybe there's something I'm missing...
I hope this all works...

First, and most importantly, make sure everything is plugged in and your connection is powered. Cables, router/bridge, whatever. Then, before getting all complicated, make sure you tell the setup to "auto detect" or "not required" on everything it asks you. Try to test again. If that doesn't work, tell what part it stops you on.

I've already done all of that, and it slams me on the network test. It says "The conncetion attempt has timed out. Return to setup"

Ok, here's where things get tricky and there'll be a lot of questions.
--In order to get online, do you have to give a username and password? Me and Mello don't because we use a router and all of that is stored in it. But when you try to go online do you have to give it one? If so, then you might have to provide it in the setup.

nope, I have no password...I don't think. That reminds me of AOL... and I set everything else to auto...I'm going to check everything again. nope, everything's good...

Are you using a router at all?
And is the setup you're using from the Jak disc or did the adapter come with one? The utility should work the same though...

for me, the router and modem are the same thing. I know it can work because I tested the bridge by hooking it up to the computer and I was able to get online. Yes, a disc came with the adapter but I'm using the Jak disc.

You could try the Actual Network Disc, although it shouldn't make a difference.

ummm... the router and the modem aren't usually the same thing. The modem is the box that brings in your internet connection, and is then hooked into the router. The router is used to share and seperate an internet connect to several computers/devices. I haven't seen a modem that has several ports from someone to plug in more than one computer and share the connection... You sure it's the same? What broadband service do you have, cable, DSL, satellite? I'm thinking the problem is with the connection. It doesn't seem to find it. --edit--- Uh-oh. Is the sender and reciever getting power?

The modem has 4 ethernet ports and a wi-fi antenna. Weird, I know. And yes, I have a DSL connection.
Both ends are recieving power...

At my old house, we had a modem with 4 ports. One went to the asshole's laptop, one to the main CPU, and one to my mom's ethernet cable for her laptop/MY JAK X CONNECTION. After the asshole's reproductions of shit moved in, a wireless router was plugged into the 4th port for them to have wireless internet capabilities.
